Summer is in full swing at all the Disney Parks!
The Disney Parks Blog posted this article with many exciting new details about Shanghai Disneyland! I am most excited about the newest iteration of an original Disneyland attraction, Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle or the Sunken Treasure!
We were very sad to hear that DisneyQuest will be closing in 2016. This is to make way for the NBA Experience which I feel quite indifferent to. DisneyQuest was out dated, but fun - and a magical place for Michael who LOVES arcades. I'm disappointed they are seemingly replacing it completely with instead of revitalizing it, especially with Wreck-It Ralph 2 on the horizon.
Hollywood Studios is experiencing some growing pains this season, but hopefully it will all be for the best. July 12th was the last day for guests to experience the Magic of Disney Animation. Perhaps this is to make way for the much-discussed expansion for Pixar themed attractions?
The Grand Floridian's only quick service dining location has been scheduled for a 2 week renovation, August 23-September 4, reopening on September 5th.
The refurbishment schedule on AllEars.net has no huge changes, other than they seem to put a finishing date on the Disney Springs update for the West Side of 8/31/16. Disney has yet to announce the official opening/transition date for Disney Springs.
Disneyland celebrated it's 60th birthday on July 17th with great pomp and circumstance. The stand-out of the day's festivities for me was undoubtedly Richard Sherman playing Feed the Birds along with Broadway's Mary Poppins Ashley Brown. Real tears. Here's the recap from the Disney Parks Blog.
Any news that you're particularly excited for?
